Shidam Shorts 2016
This weeks video brings back an old series we haven't visited for almost a year. Shidam Shorts! It is a series of short skits compiled into one video. Why it ended in the first place is hard to say. We just never got around to filming another one for a whole year because we had so many other ideas to film. I for one am happy to be working on these ideas again. They come to me very often and are rather fun to write, film and edit. Enjoy!

The Werewolf Prank!
Today's video was a change of pace for us. We did a prank rather than our typical sketch comedy. The concept was simple yet hilarious. What if we took a ton of fake hair, glued it to our face and went into PetSmart on an empty stomach looking for food? The results were priceless!
We were nervous to do this prank, but for that very reason we knew it was something that we had to do. The make up process took way too long, close to 2 hours, but the end result was worth it. Our goal was to look as much like those wolf boys from the guinness book of world records as we possibly could. When we finally had completed the look it was time to head to petsmart and see what kind of reactions we got. Let me tell you, they were priceless. Every person in the store that saw Brison did a double take and stared at him like he was…a freak (he was). We were really nervous in the moment so did some things that we would probably change now after the fact but regardless we are happy with the results.
Our strong suit is writing scenarios, scripts and just general sketch comedy. This type of video isn't as desirable because it leaves too many elements up in the air that we can't control. It's scary to leave a large portion of the comedy or general success of a video up to a complete stranger that has no idea they are being filmed... But at the same time doing things like this and putting ourselves in this type of situation will help us grow in an area we wouldn't mind developing. It will be just another tool in our comedy toolbox.
I hope you enjoy!

Banned Commercials Video
We had fun filming this weeks video. The concept was to create a series of short commercials based around the premise of being "Banned Commercials". We were worried how people would respond to the content considering it could be viewed as rather offensive to some people, but luckily thus far the response has been wonderful. I'm happy to see that not everybody is overly PC, especially when it comes to comedy. We have to allow comedy to be pure and unrestricted.
For this video I created a prop that was suppose to look like a Chinese food take out box. I wasn't sure I would be able to do it but I told myself I wouldn't be able to for sure if I at least didn't try. That motivated me to give it a shot. So during the weekend I kicked back, put on a football game and put my arts and crafts skills to the test. I actually had quite a bit of fun making it. It took in total about 2 hours to make for literally maybe 20 seconds of screen time haha, it's okay though, I feel it helped add a lot to the joke.
The mexican gardener part of the video was an idea that I had been sitting on for months now and just never had the proper outlet to execute it. It finally had it's chance to shine. I really enjoy it, I think it's my favorite part of the video actually. I knew it would be funny. We had some problems with audio while filming that part because the only spot we had the opportunity to use was populated with barking dogs in yards and curious neighbors, but we made it work. Brison had no shame when it came to being loud in a poncho and sombrero, that's why he's great at what he does haha.
I hope people can look past the risqué content and see the humor and comedy in what we did. Truth be told we could of made the content way more "offensive"… we always can.
